Methods in Molecular Biology

Methods in Molecular Biology is a book series from publisher Humana Press that presents biomedical and life science research methods and protocols. The book series was introduced by series editor Dr. John Walker in 1983 and provides step-by-step instructions for carrying out experiments in a research lab. As of April 2011, 867 volumes had been published in the series. The protocols are also available online at Springer Protocols.

Each protocol opens with an introductory overview and a list of the materials and reagents needed to complete the experiment. Every protocol is followed by a detailed procedure that is supported with a notes section offering tips and “tricks of the trade” as well as troubleshooting advice.

Famous quotes containing the words methods and/or biology:

A woman might claim to retain some of the child’s faculties, although very limited and defused, simply because she has not been encouraged to learn methods of thought and develop a disciplined mind. As long as education remains largely induction ignorance will retain these advantages over learning and it is time that women impudently put them to work.
    Germaine Greer (b. 1939)

Nothing can be more incorrect than the assumption one sometimes meets with, that physics has one method, chemistry another, and biology a third.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)
