Famous quotes containing the words meg and/or white:

“O bid me mount and sail up there
    Amid the cloudy wrack,
For Peg and Meg and Paris’ love
That had so straight a back,
Are gone away, and some that stay
Have changed their silk for sack.”
    —William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

    “The silence is death.
It comes each day with its shock
to sit on my shoulder, a white bird,
and peck at the black eyes
    and the vibrating red muscle
    of my mouth.”
    —Anne Sexton (1928–1974)
