Computer Aided Medical Diagnosis, CAD

Computer Aided Diagnosis is a procedure in which an appropriate medical Medical Software can diagnose illness, using patient data processed by the computer. These data were once only symptoms, laboratory findings, and radiographic findings, but were inputed as text only, not allowing image processing (e.g. software for bone tumors "TUMOR", 1991).

Famous quotes containing the words computer, aided, medical and/or cad:

Family life is not a computer program that runs on its own; it needs continual input from everyone.
    Neil Kurshan (20th century)

It has taken me nearly twenty years of studied self-restraint, aided by the natural decay of my faculties, to make myself dull enough to be accepted as a serious person by the British public; and I am not sure that I am not still regarded as a suspicious character in some quarters.
    George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)

Mark Twain didn’t psychoanalyze Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer. Dickens didn’t put Oliver Twist on the couch because he was hungry! Good copy comes out of people, Johnny, not out of a lot of explanatory medical terms.
    Samuel Fuller (b. 1911)

The Cad is the entire epitome, the complete blossom and fruit in one, of what we are told is an age of culture. Behold him in the vélodrome as he yells insanely after his kind as they tear along on their tandem machines in a match, and then ask yourself candidly, O my reader, if any age before this in all the centuries of earth ever produced any creature so utterly low and loathsome, so physically, mentally, individually, and collectively hideous?
Ouida [Marie Louise De La Ramée] (1839–1908)
