• The title of the episode is a reference to the song "Me and Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul.

• Miley compares the Jonas Brothers to The Three Stooges when she says "I am not about to let Larry, Curly and Moe Bro waltz in and steal him away."

• Jackson's "hop to destiny" is a reference to Gary Stewart who, from May 25 to May 26, 1990 in Huntington Beach, California, hopped on a pogo stick for 20 hours and 20 minutes, logging a total of 177,737 consecutive jumps.

• Miley and Lilly's fictional boy band "Milo and Otis" is a reference to the Japanese children's film The Adventures of Milo and Otis.

• In the last part of the episode when Robby and Hannah are ambushed by the Jonas Brothers, Hannah says "Duck and cover, daddy. It's the return of the Jonai." This is a reference to the Star Wars film Return of the Jedi.
