Later Career

Leslie continued to serve overseas during World War II, and after the war spent the rest of his career in various ships and shore stations. He retired in 1956. In addition to the Navy Cross, he was presented the Bronze Star Medal with combat "V" and the Commendation Ribbon, the Presidential Unit Citation to Enterprise, American Defense Service Medal, Fleet Clasp, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Leslie died 26 Sept 1985 in San Diego, California.
