The Mauritian tomb bat is of "Least Concern (LC)" on the IUCN Red List of endangered species. Although its population and the population trend are unknown, the bat is easily found throughout its range. Mauritian tomb bats are widespread throughout Africa and neighboring islands. They are not listed as requiring special conservation action under any current programs.
