Jeni Stepanek
Jeni Stepanek, Ph.D., (Mattie's mother), continues to work as a motivational speaker, writer, advocate and consultant. She serves as a national vice president for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, a governor of the We Are Family Foundation, and as executive director of the Mattie J.T. Stepanek Foundation. She also works as a research associate at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the field of special education.
