Professional Career
He attended the Australian Institute of Sport in 1989. In his professional career, Nielsen has played with the Sydney Kings, PAOK, Lietuvos Rytas, and Valencia. He was named the Eurocup Finals MVP in 2010. In July 2010, Nielsen signed a two-year contract with Olympiacos Piraeus. In August 2011 he signed a two-year contract with BC Khimki in Russia. He left in June 2013, after his contract expired.
