Athletics

Maryville College sponsors 13 varsity sports under the guidelines of the NCAA Division III. Varsity sports include men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's tennis, baseball, and softball. Maryville competed in the Great South Athletic Conference, with football competing in the USA South Athletic Conference. As of fall 2012, all teams are competing in the USA South Conference. Maryville College played in the first Tangerine Bowl (now the Capital One Bowl) in 1947, losing 31 - 0 to Catawba College.
