Mark Chung - Youth and College

Youth and College

Chung was born in Toronto to Chinese Jamaican parents. His family moved from Toronto to Pembroke Pines, Florida when Chung was twelve. These moves created a dilemma for Chung when he received invitations to play from three national teams, the United States, Canada and Jamaica. He ultimately elected to play for the U.S. Following high school, Chung attended the University of South Florida where he studied finance. He also played on the men's soccer team from 1988 to 1992, finishing his collegiate soccer career with twenty-five assists.

Famous quotes containing the words youth and, youth and/or college:

    Remember thee?
Ay, thou poor ghost, whiles memory holds a seat
In this distracted globe. Remember thee?
Yea, from the table of my memory
I’ll wipe away all trivial fond records,
All saws of books, all forms, all pressures past
That youth and observation copied there,
And thy commandment all alone shall live
Within the book and volume of my brain,
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

He that hath a beard is more than a youth, and he that hath no beard is less than a man; and he that is more than a youth is not for me, and he that is less than a man, I am not for him.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    here
to this college on the hill above Harlem
I am the only colored student in my class.
    Langston Hughes (1902–1967)
