In 1999, the Hudson game Mario Party was released for the Nintendo 64. Following this, eight numbered sequels have since been released, along with Mario Party Advance and Mario Party DS. Mario Party is a (multiplayer) party game featuring Mario series characters in which four human- or computer-controlled characters compete in a board game interspersed with minigames.
