Marina Bay Street Circuit

The Marina Bay Street Circuit (otherwise known as the Singapore GP Street Circuit) is a street circuit around Singapore's Marina Bay and is the venue for the Singapore Grand Prix. The track is 5.073 km (3.152 mi) long in a harbourside location similar in style to the Monaco Grand Prix and the Valencia Street Circuit in Valencia.

The circuit is designed by KBR, Inc., a modification of the original one first proposed by Hermann Tilke.

Famous quotes containing the words bay, street and/or circuit:

Three miles long and two streets wide, the town curls around the bay ... a gaudy run with Mediterranean splashes of color, crowded steep-pitched roofs, fishing piers and fishing boats whose stench of mackerel and gasoline is as aphrodisiac to the sensuous nose as the clean bar-whisky smell of a nightclub where call girls congregate.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)

If the street life, not the Whitechapel street life, but that of the common but so-called respectable part of town is in any city more gloomy, more ugly, more grimy, more cruel than in London, I certainly don’t care to see it. Sometimes it occurs to one that possibly all the failures of this generation, the world over, have been suddenly swept into London, for the streets are a restless, breathing, malodorous pageant of the seedy of all nations.
    Willa Cather (1876–1947)

    each new victim treads unfalteringly
The never altered circuit of his fate,
    Bringing twelve peers as witness
Both to his starry rise and starry fall.
    Robert Graves (1895–1985)
