Biography

Holcomb was born in New Hartford, Connecticut on November 28, 1844 son of Carlos Holcomb and Adah L. Bushnell. He studied in the public school system New Hartford. He then studied at Wesleyan Seminary in Massachusetts. He was married to Sarah Carpenter Bennet on Octtober 16, 1872. They had one son, Marcus Hensey Holcomb Jr., who died in infancy.
