  • Curling: 2005 Tim Hortons Brier – Randy Ferbey's Alberta rink and Randy Dutiaume's Manitoba rink both lost their first games against Nova Scotia and Northern Ontario respectively while Brad Gushue's Newfoundland and Labrador rink win both their games against Yukon/Northwest Territories and Prince Edward Island to force a 3-way tie for top spot at 4–1.
