Defence

Infanticide is a partial defence to manslaughter under the Infanticide Act 1938 (as amended by section 57 the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 to confirm the decision in R v Gore EWCA Crim 2789) and reduces the manslaughter to the crime of infanticide.
