Famous quotes containing the words malcolm, love and/or library:

    Fidelity to the subject’s thought and to his characteristic way of expressing himself is the sine qua non of journalistic quotation.
    —Janet Malcolm (b. 1934)

    From too much love of living,
    From hope and fear set free,
    We thank with brief thanksgiving
    Whatever gods may be
    That no life lives for ever;
    That dead men rise up never;
    That even the weariest river
    Winds somewhere safe to sea.
    —A.C. (Algernon Charles)

    I view askance a book that remains undisturbed for a year. Oughtn’t it to have a ticket of leave? I think I may safely say no book in my library remains unopened a year at a time, except my own works and Tennyson’s.
    Carolyn Wells (1862–1942)
