Famous quotes containing the word religion:

India has 2,000,000 gods, and worships them all. In religion other countries are paupers; India is the only millionaire.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

I think he might as well have taken them out in the backyard and killed them with an ax.
    Brenda Ueland (1891–1985)

Their religion was sweetness and peace amidst toil and tears.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
