Makkal Manadu Katchi (Tamil: மக்கள் மாநாடு கட்சி, for People's Conference Party; MMK) is a political party in India. The MMK was formed at the end of 2005 through the fusion of serious discussions.
The party believes that the dependent economy, globalization, neglect of indigenous resources and even the production of essential commodities being in the hands of few persons poverty, are the main causes for unemployment, backwardness and other social inequalities and economic disparities.Therefore, Makkal Manadu Katchi states that unless the economy is self-reliant, use indigenous resources, ignore globalization and production of the essential commodities are with the masses, the poverty, unemployment, backwardness and other social inequalities and economic disadvantages cannot be eradicated.
The president of the MMK is the advocate K.Sakthivel.
