Lord Ghantakarna Mahavir was a Kshatriya king named Tungabhadra, was popularly named Mahabal for his ferocious strength. He protected religious people, caste and virtuous women and, unmarried girls from robbers and dacoits. He primarily used a bow and arrows for defense apart kept heavy Mace (club) as His Weaponry. He liked sounds of Bell(ghant) and also He had Bell(ghant) Shaped ears so he was commonly known as 'Ghant(Bell) Karna(Ears)' Mahavir(Great Warrior). Shri Ghantakarna Mahavir Dev always helps those who have faith in him. He was very fond of Sukhadi (made from Jaggery, Flour, and Ghee or clarified butter). Therefore, there is a custom of offering Sukhadi as prasad to him. Sukhadi should be strictly consumed in premises only.
