Self-awareness in Daily Life
To cultivate self-awareness, practitioners must practice as much as possible. Practitioners can practice even when in a car or on a bus. While sitting on a bus or in a car, practitioners lay their hand on the thigh and turn the palm up and down, or they run the thumb over the fingertip, or they make a fist and open it repeatedly. The key is to do every movement slowly and be aware. According to Mahasati Meditation, this is the natural way of cultivating self-awareness, learning Dhamma with nature.

Famous quotes containing the words daily life, daily and/or life:
“Dutch painting: daily life is enough.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
“The afternoon is visibly a source,
Too wide, too irised, to be more than calm,
Too much like thinking to be less than thought,
Obscurest parent, obscurest patriarch,
A daily majesty of meditation,
That comes and goes in silences of its own.”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
“It is always a matter, my darling,
Of life or death, as I had forgotten. I wish
What I wished you before, but harder.”
—Richard Wilbur (b. 1921)
