Maharishi School of The Age of Enlightenment - Student Life

Student Life

Students learn various practices designed to promote good health. The schools natural health program includes self-pulse assessment, yoga postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and guidelines for a healthy diet and daily routine. The school also serves organic vegetarian food and has a tobacco, alcohol and drug-free campus policy.

MSAE students participate in a variety of athletic, performance and visual art programs. The school also offers a summer day camp program for children 5–10 yrs old. Students are required to wear a school uniform, which consists mainly of a white shirt and tie for boys and a white blouse and plaid skirt for girls.

Many of the parents of MSAE students came to Fairfield to practice the TM-Sidhi program in the Golden Domes. Becoming a Sidha and doing Yogic Flying seems to be a rite of passage for the students, according to headmaster Ashley Deans.

Famous quotes containing the words student and/or life:

Solitude is not measured by the miles of space that intervene between a man and his fellows. The really diligent student in one of the crowded hives of Cambridge College is as solitary as a dervis in the desert.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Measure your health by your sympathy with morning and spring. If there is no response in you to the awakening of nature—if the prospect of an early morning walk does not banish sleep, if the warble of the first bluebird does not thrill you—know that the morning and spring of your life are past. Thus may you feel your pulse.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
