Magnum XL-200 was awarded the ACE Roller Coaster Landmark award on June 21, 2004 at the 27th Annual Convention of the American Coaster Enthusiasts. It won the award because it inspired more than a dozen similar rides on three continents and because it was the first hypercoaster.
