Madrak is the name of ancient king of Āryāvarta, as per Vishnu Puran Madrak related to Anu Vansh. After a long time Madrak established as a lord of Sumerians and gotra of ancient Aryan royals. Madrak is lord of Aryan king Cyrus the great of Anushayan (Anshan) Aryavrata nowadays in Persian territory. Madrak (also Madra, Marduk, Maderna, Madrayana) is an ancient gotra of Jats and is the root of many of the Jat gotras. They are descendants of Madri. In the Mahabharata epic, Madri was a princess of the Madra kingdom and the second wife of Pandu.
