Friendly Homes of The Ashram

The ‘House of Praise’, Miss Bagshaw and all her children always opened their doors to the Ashram people. C.T. Abraham’s house in Bangalore was always open for the missionaries. Mrs. C.T. Abraham was the Nursing Superintendent of Bowring Hospital; whether she was present at home or not, special instructions were given to the servants: “anyone coming from Hoskote is to be served lunch with some special dish and treated with extra care.”

C.C. Cherian, K.J. Abraham, K.C. Abraham, C.T. Philips and many friends from Maramon and Kumbanad stayed in Bangalore and always welcomed the missionaries.

Famous quotes containing the words friendly and/or homes:

Our good schools today are much better than the best schools of yesterday. When I was your age and a pupil in school, our teachers were our enemies.
Can any thing ... be more painful to a friendly mind, than a necessity of communicating disagreeable intelligence? Indeed it is sometimes difficult to determine, whether the relator or the receiver of evil tidings is most to be pitied.
    Frances Burney (1752–1840)

Pharisaism, obtuseness and tyranny reign not only in the homes of merchants and in jails; I see it in science, in literature, and among youth. I consider any emblem or label a prejudice.... My holy of holies is the human body, health, intellect, talent, inspiration, love and the most absolute of freedoms, the freedom from force and falsity in whatever forms they might appear.
    Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860–1904)
