Many taxonomists include only the Lycaeninae, Poritiinae, Miletinae and Curetinae under the Lycaenidae.
The genus Chrysoritis is included with Lycaenidae but has not been assigned to a subfamily.
Other classifications notably include the Riodininae (e.g., Abisara echerius).
