Luzon Science Consortium

The Luzon Science Consortium was organized by the founding member institution namely Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Cagayan State University (CSU) and Isabela State University (ISU) known as CLSU-CSU-ISU Science Consortium on September 17, 1982. The prime objective of consortium was to improve science education in Luzon upon the advise of the Science Education Institute of the DOST under the Institution Building Program (IBP) of the then National Science and Technology Authority (NSTA)- Science Promotion Institute.

In 1991, the Nueva Viscaya State Institute of Technology (NVSIT), Nueva Viscaya State Polytechnic College (NVSPC) and Quirino State College (QSC) joined its roster of membership with high motivation that their science programs would also be enriched. In the same year, the presidents and representatives of the six member-institutions formally changed the name CLSU-CSU-ISU Science Consortium with acronym LSC.

The Luzon Science Consortium since then has carved a name in the four regions in Luzon namely Regions I,II, III and IV as a prestigious organization that promotes science education among students and faculty of state universities and colleges.

Famous quotes containing the word science:

He is not a true man of science who does not bring some sympathy to his studies, and expect to learn something by behavior as well as by application. It is childish to rest in the discovery of mere coincidences, or of partial and extraneous laws. The study of geometry is a petty and idle exercise of the mind, if it is applied to no larger system than the starry one.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
