The United Kingdom Census 2011 showed that Luton had a population of about 203,200, a 10.2% increase from the previous census in 2001, when Luton was the 27th largest settlement in the UK. In 2001, 43,324 were under 15, 131,660 were between 16 and 74 and 9387 were over 74.
