Luis Bilro Pereira - Football Career

Football Career

After finishing his footballing formation at Sporting Clube de Portugal, Bilro made his professional debuts with Seixal Futebol Clube, where he had begun as an infant. He went to represent lowly outfits Atlético Clube de Portugal and Sporting Clube Olhanense, returning to Sporting for 1992–93 and spending an entire season without any official appearances, being released afterwards.

After leaving Sporting, Bilro moved to União de Leiria, where he would amass nearly 400 overall official appearances, helping it achieve top division promotion in his first year and being coached in 2001–02 by young manager José Mourinho, as the side from the river Lis finished seventh.

Famous quotes containing the words football and/or career:

People stress the violence. That’s the smallest part of it. Football is brutal only from a distance. In the middle of it there’s a calm, a tranquility. The players accept pain. There’s a sense of order even at the end of a running play with bodies stewn everywhere. When the systems interlock, there’s a satisfaction to the game that can’t be duplicated. There’s a harmony.
    Don Delillo (b. 1926)

The 19-year-old Diana ... decided to make her career that of wife. Today that can be a very, very iffy line of work.... And what sometimes happens to the women who pursue it is the best argument imaginable for teaching girls that they should always be able to take care of themselves.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
