Background
Born Lucinda Mary Hughes, she is the daughter of the prominent Sydney Queen's Counsel, the Hon. Tom Hughes, a former Australian Attorney-General of Australia. She was educated at the Frensham School, in Mittagong, New South Wales. Turnbull completed her LLB at The University of Sydney and later went on to complete her MBA at the University of NSW Australian Graduate School of Management.
Working for her father, aged 20, she met Malcolm Turnbull, aged 24. They married in 1980 and, after two miscarriages, Malcolm and Lucy Turnbull have two children, Alex (b. 1982) and Daisy (b. 1985). Malcolm Turnbull is a member of the Australian House of Representatives for Wentworth since 2004, representing the Liberal Party. He was the Leader of the Opposition from 16 September 2008 to 1 December 2009 and is currently Shadow Minister for Communications and Broadband.
