Luca Castiglia - Club Career - Juventus

Juventus

After joining Juventus, Castiglia joined the club's youth set-up at the start of the 2005–2006 season., having spent some of his formative years in the Campionato Primavera under-20 league format between all Serie A and Serie B teams. The Juventus under-20's won the youth title that year. Luca plays a central role in the midfield and looks to distribute forward as he is a good passer of the ball. Some even compared him to Andrea Pirlo in the way that he controls the midfield. Then Juventus coach, Claudio Ranieri decided to call him up to the senior side for parts of the 2007–08 Serie A season. His first senior game came as a substitute on 27 January 2008, when Juventus played Livorno in Serie A league match, and won 3–1. In February 2009, he led the Juventus Primavera team to win the Viareggio Cup. He was considered one of the more promising stars from that year's Juventus youth system along with the likes of Sebastian Giovinco, Claudio Marchisio, Paolo De Ceglie, Domenico Criscito, and Dario Venitucci.
