Race Performance
The Lotus 18 had remarkably good handling with a unique suspension system which drastically reduced weight transfer and body roll in cornering. Shortly, the Lotus 18 was proving to be faster than any car Grand Prix racing had ever seen, eclipsing even the legendary Auto Unions and being widely copied. It was also built as a two-seat sports-racer called the Lotus 19 or Monte Carlo.

Famous quotes containing the words race and/or performance:
“Twas mercy brought me from my Pagan land,
Taught my benighted soul to understand
That theres a God, that theres a Saviour too:
Once I redemption neither sought nor knew.
Some view our sable race with scornful eye,
Their color is a diabolic die.
Remember, Christians, Negroes, black as Cain,
May be refind, and join th angelic train.”
—Phillis Wheatley (c. 17531784)
“The way to go to the circus, however, is with someone who has seen perhaps one theatrical performance before in his life and that in the High School hall.... The scales of sophistication are struck from your eyes and you see in the circus a gathering of men and women who are able to do things as a matter of course which you couldnt do if your life depended on it.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
