Famous quotes containing the words lost, world and/or caverns:

We have not the reverent feeling for the rainbow that a savage has, because we know how it is made. We have lost as much as we gained by prying into that matter.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)

Destroy yourselves, you who are desperate, and you who are tortured in body and soul, abandon all hope. There is no more solace for you in this world. The world lives off your rotting flesh.
    Antonin Artaud (1896–1948)

... the bold care of an ecstatic trull
    Who rearranges with impartial feet
The silence in the caverns of a skull.
    Allen Tate (1899–1979)
