Lost Asteroid - Errors

Errors

Some lost asteroids turn out to be erroneous observations, as in the case of 330 Adalberta. This designation was originally given to 1892 X, but reassigned to A910 CB when 1892 X turned out to be a false positive in the 1980s.

Famous quotes containing the word errors:

Science in the modern world has many uses; its chief use, however, is to provide long words to cover the errors of the rich.
    Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936)

I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause. I shall try to correct errors when shown to be errors; and I shall adopt new views so fast as they shall appear to be true views.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

A happy people I call them still, whose peace and genuine morals have not been contaminated with European vices; and whose errors are only the errors of ignorance, and not the rooted depravity of a pretended civilization, and a spurious and mock Christianity.
    —J.G. (John Gabriel)
