Lord Melody

Lord Melody (1926 – 26 September 1988) was a popular calypsonian, best known for singles such as the self-deprecating "Boo Boo Man", "Creature From The Black Lagoon" "Shame & Scandal", "Jonah and the Bake", "Juanita" and "Rastaman Be Careful". Melody's career spanned some forty years, from the early development of popular calypso to his embrace of a reggae-influenced sound in the late 1970s.

Famous quotes containing the words lord and/or melody:

    Abide with me: fast falls the eventide;
    The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide:
    Henry Francis Lyte (1793–1847)

    A poet is a nightingale, who sits in darkness and sings to cheer its own solitude with sweet sounds; his auditors are as men entranced by the melody of an unseen musician, who feel that they are moved and softened, yet know not whence or why.
    Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)
