Look Park - Pines Theater

Pines Theater

The Pines Theater is an outdoor amphitheater located within the park. The stage is built out of Goshen stone, along with the entryway and sound towers. The theater holds the annual "Transperformance" concert, a music festival hosted by The Northampton Arts Council and the Parent Teacher Organizations of the Northampton Public Schools. Famous artists to perform at the venue include Bob Dylan and Crosby, Stills and Nash. Concerts at the theater were in past years managed by the Iron Horse Entertainment Group, prior to their opening of their own Mountain Park concert venue in 2009.

Famous quotes containing the words pines and/or theater:

The great pines stand at a considerable distance from each other. Each tree grows alone, murmurs alone, thinks alone. They do not intrude upon each other. The Navajos are not much in the habit of giving or of asking help. Their language is not a communicative one, and they never attempt an interchange of personality in speech. Over their forests there is the same inexorable reserve. Each tree has its exalted power to bear.
    Willa Cather (1873–1947)

Since people no longer attend church, theater remains as the only public service, and literature as the only private devotion.
    Franz Grillparzer (1791–1872)
