London Riverside

The London Riverside is a new development area in north east London, England and part of the larger Thames Gateway redevelopment zone. The London Riverside area forms part of the Green Enterprise District, a project to create a low-carbon economy region in Greater London.

It is one of two zones whose responsibility for delivery is with London Thames Gateway Development Corporation; the other is the Lower Lea Valley redevelopment.

Famous quotes containing the words london and/or riverside:

I don’t care very much for literary shrines and haunts ... I knew a woman in London who boasted that she had lodgings from the windows of which she could throw a stone into Carlyle’s yard. And when I said, “Why throw a stone into Carlyle’s yard?” she looked at me as if I were an imbecile and changed the subject.
    Carolyn Wells (1862–1942)

    Upset at the young wife’s
    first loss of virtue
    in a riverside thicket,
    a flock of birds
    flies up,
    mourning the loss
    with their wings.
    Hla Stavhana (c. 50 A.D.)
