London Oxford Airport - Current

Current

Today, airport activity is split with 35% pilot flight training, 10% business aviation (both private and charter) and the balance being mainly private and recreational general aviation activity.

Principal companies based at Oxford Airport include Eurocopter, Hawker Beechcraft, Hangar 8, Jet Connections, PremiAir, Flairjet, AirMed, Pilot Flight Training and Capital Air Services. London Executive Aviation based their Embraer Legacy 600 jet at Oxford Airport in 2009, and announced plans to base a Cessna Citation Mustang very light jet (VLJ) at the facility thereafter.

This airport stands to benefit from the development of the VLJ market, with the roll-out of aircraft such as the Cessna Citation Mustang, Honda HA-420 HondaJet and Embraer Phenom 100s, as their profitability relies on curtailing operating costs.

Famous quotes containing the word current:

    I don’t see America as a mainland, but as a sea, a big ocean. Sometimes a storm arises, a formidable current develops, and it seems it will engulf everything. Wait a moment, another current will appear and bring the first one to naught.
    Jacques Maritain (1882–1973)

    Beneath the azure current floweth;
    Above, the golden sunlight glows.
    Rebellious, the storm it wooeth,
    As if the storms could give repose.
    Mikhail Lermontov (1814–1841)

    This is no argument against teaching manners to the young. On the contrary, it is a fine old tradition that ought to be resurrected from its current mothballs and put to work...In fact, children are much more comfortable when they know the guide rules for handling the social amenities. It’s no more fun for a child to be introduced to a strange adult and have no idea what to say or do than it is for a grownup to go to a formal dinner and have no idea what fork to use.
    Leontine Young (20th century)
