London Eye Pier

London Eye Pier (or "Waterloo Millennium Pier") is a pier on South Bank of the River Thames in Central London, UK, located directly in front of the London Eye.

It is operated by the London Eye and served by various river transport and cruise operators in conjunction with London River Services.

London Eye Pier (Waterloo Millennium Pier) should not be confused with the former Waterloo Police Pier which is on the opposite side of the river on Victoria Embankment next to Waterloo Bridge. This pier has since been renamed the Tower Lifeboat Station and has been the base for the RNLI's Thames lifeboat service since 2006.

Famous quotes containing the words london, eye and/or pier:

One of the many to whom, from straightened circumstances, a consequent inability to form the associations they would wish, and a disinclination to mix with the society they could obtain, London is as complete a solitude as the plains of Syria.
    Charles Dickens (1812–1870)

War-making is one of the few activities that people are not supposed to view “realistically”; that is, with an eye to expense and practical outcome. In all-out war, expenditure is all-out, unprudent—war being defined as an emergency in which no sacrifice is excessive.
    Susan Sontag (b. 1933)

    Duccio came not by usura
nor Pier della Francesca; Zuan Bellin’ not by usura
    nor was ‘La Calunnia’ painted.
Came not by usura Angelico; came not Ambrogio Praedis,
Came no church of cut stone signed: Adamo me fecit.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)
