Events
The LMGA holds monthly mixers and periodic educational events for its members. The events function in two ways: to show off prospective film locations to professional scouts and to provide professional networking for members. The locations are often subsequently used for filming. Past functions have been held at the Riviera Country Club, Ritz-Carlton Marina Del Rey, The Biltmore, Mondrian, W Westwood, Sofitel West Hollywood, Wilshire Grand, Geisha House, Façade, Knitting Factory, Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier, and The Music Box at The Fonda. These events are primarily a meeting place for Active, Associate, and Business Members.

Famous quotes containing the word events:
“All strange and terrible events are welcome,
But comforts we despise.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“The geometry of landscape and situation seems to create its own systems of time, the sense of a dynamic element which is cinematising the events of the canvas, translating a posture or ceremony into dynamic terms. The greatest movie of the 20th century is the Mona Lisa, just as the greatest novel is Grays Anatomy.”
—J.G. (James Graham)
“There is much to be said in favour of modern journalism. By giving us the opinions of the uneducated, it keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community. By carefully chronicling the current events of contemporary life, it shows us of what very little importance such events really are. By invariably discussing the unnecessary, it makes us understand what things are requisite for culture, and what are not.”
—Oscar Wilde (18541900)
