Lobsang Gyatso (monk) - Death - Relation To Shugden Practitioners

Relation To Shugden Practitioners

Prithvi Raj (PR), Chief Police of Kangra District said: "We have identified two of the murderers, and we have clear indications that the murderers are directly linked to the Shugden association and directly connecting these murderers with the case. But so far we have not been able to arrest them. One is called Tenzin Chozin, the other is called Lobsang Chodrak. Before the murder, the principal received threatening letters from the Shugden association."

The six fugitive murder suspects and collaborators of Shugden Association are still wanted by the Indian Police The Indian press reported the Tibetan Government in Exile stating that there was evidence that they were involved. According to disciples of Geshe Lobsang Gyatso, after publicly speaking out against the propitiation of Shugden, he received many anonymous death threats from Shugden supporters but refused any personal security.

For the last ten years, this murder has been cited as one of many violent campaigns of Shugden practitioners against the Dalai Lama. Al Jazeera made a documentary report in late 2008 that showed, among other things, that the Tibetan Government in Exile had created a museum exhibition featuring pictures of this murder by Shugden supporters to explain and justify their exposure of the crime by Shugden practitioners. France 24 also showed this footage.

According to an article published in April 1997 by the Indian newspaper Jansatta, on the site of the murder, Lobsang Gyatso had grabbed from his assailants a bag containing belongings of Dorje Shugden followers, indicating their possible involvement in the murders.

According an article published by the Indian newspaper The Tribune, November 1997, four of the six suspects in the murders were identified and their extradition was requested to Interpol. Sources claimed that the six suspects, alleged followers of Shugden, had immediately crossed the border to Nepal and then presumably gone to Tibet after the murders and were escorted to their villages of origin by the Chinese Army.

Ten years later, in June 2007, Interpol issued a Red notice for two of the Shugden supporters accused of the killings.

Famous quotes containing the words relation to and/or relation:

Light is meaningful only in relation to darkness, and truth presupposes error. It is these mingled opposites which people our life, which make it pungent, intoxicating. We only exist in terms of this conflict, in the zone where black and white clash.
    Louis Aragon (1897–1982)

There is a certain standard of grace and beauty which consists in a certain relation between our nature, such as it is, weak or strong, and the thing which pleases us. Whatever is formed according to this standard pleases us, be it house, song, discourse, verse, prose, woman, birds, rivers, trees, room, dress, and so on. Whatever is not made according to this standard displeases those who have good taste.
    Blaise Pascal (1623–1662)
