Liverpool Students' Union - Constitution

Constitution

The LSU Constitution establishes the union and outlines the ways in which members can engage in the union, and the procedures the union undertake to make it better whilst remaining democratic. The constitution has been awarded the Plain English Campaign Crystal Mark for clarity in language.

The current constitution was adopted in 2009. It is approved by the LSU Board of Trustees and regulated by the LJMU Board of Governor. In November 2010, the Executive Committee announced plans for amendments, and released their proposal to governors for plans to adopt a new constitution.

Famous quotes containing the word constitution:

Can you conceive what it is to native-born American women citizens, accustomed to the advantages of our schools, our churches and the mingling of our social life, to ask over and over again for so simple a thing as that “we, the people,” should mean women as well as men; that our Constitution should mean exactly what it says?
Mary F. Eastman, U.S. suffragist. As quoted in History of Woman Suffrage, vol. 4 ch. 5, by Susan B. Anthony and Ida Husted Harper (1902)
