Famous quotes containing the words political and/or motives:
“I have never known a novel that was good enough to be good in spite of its being adapted to the authors political views.”
—Edith Wharton (18621937)

But human life itself is almost pure chaos. Everyone takes his stance, asserts his own rights and feelings, mistaking the motives of others, and his own.”
—Katherine Anne Porter (18901980)
