History
During the American Civil War a small battle was fought on the Little Missouri 10 miles north of Prescott, Arkansas, at the Clark-Nevada County line. The battle is called the Battle of the Little Missouri River by the north and Battle of Elkin's Ferry by the south.
During the night of June 10–11, 2010 a flash flood along Little Missouri killed at least eighteen people in the campgrounds of the Albert Pike Recreational Area. In a matter of less than four hours water rose from three feet to over twenty-three feet.
