Connecticut
While Hurricane Diane is wettest known tropical cyclone to impact New England, the 1938 New England hurricane produced the most rain in the state of Connecticut. Nonetheless, the flood from Hurricane Diane led to a significant death toll (nearly 200) from Pennsylvania eastward through southern New England.
