List Of UEFA Club Competition Winning Managers

This is a list of UEFA club competition winning football managers. It includes victories in the European Cup and UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, the UEFA Cup and Europa League, the UEFA Intertoto Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

Italian Giovanni Trapattoni and Scot Alex Ferguson are the most successful managers, claiming six titles each. As of July 2008, Italian managers have won more tournaments than any other nationality, having secured 38 titles while, English managers are in a distant second place with 26 competition victories.

Trapattoni is also the only manager to have won all UEFA club competitions which he has participated and the Intercontinental Cup.

While the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup is considered to be the predecessor to the UEFA Cup, UEFA do not consider the tournament to be an official UEFA contest, and therefore successes in this competition are not included in the list. Also excluded is the 1972 UEFA Super Cup title, which is also considered unofficial by UEFA.

Famous quotes containing the words list of, list, club, competition, winning and/or managers:

Thirty—the promise of a decade of loneliness, a thinning list of single men to know, a thinning brief-case of enthusiasm, thinning hair.
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)

I am opposed to writing about the private lives of living authors and psychoanalyzing them while they are alive. Criticism is getting all mixed up with a combination of the Junior F.B.I.- men, discards from Freud and Jung and a sort of Columnist peep- hole and missing laundry list school.... Every young English professor sees gold in them dirty sheets now. Imagine what they can do with the soiled sheets of four legal beds by the same writer and you can see why their tongues are slavering.
    Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)

I spoke at a woman’s club in Philadelphia yesterday and a young lady said to me afterwards, “Well, that sounds very nice, but don’t you think it is better to be the power behind the throne?” I answered that I had not had much experience with thrones, but a woman who has been on a throne, and who is now behind it, seems to prefer to be on the throne.
    Anna Howard Shaw (1847–1919)

All adults who care about a baby will naturally be in competition for that baby.... Each adult wishes that he or she could do each job a bit more skillfully for the infant or small child than the other.
    T. Berry Brazelton (20th century)

She whom I love is hard to catch and conquer,
Hard, but O the glory of the winning were she won!
    George Meredith (1828–1909)

We also have to make sure our children know the history of women. Tell them the rotten truth: It wasn’t always possible for women to become doctors or managers or insurance people. Let them be armed with a true picture of the way we want it to be.
    Anne Roiphe (20th century)
