He didn't heed the warning, but Tru's mother flattened his car's tires, thus saving his life, but unable to save his spouse. Spending years living in regret and guilt, now acts as a mentor to Tru. He is a fan of Lord of the Rings, and has been in a relationship with Dr. Carrie Allen who, unbeknownst to Davis, is a mole working for Jack Harper. Famous quotes containing the word davis:
“Men insist that they dont mind women succeeding so long as they retain their femininity. Yet the qualities that men consider feminineMtimidity, submissiveness, obedience, silliness, and self-debasementare the very qualities best guaranteed to assure the defeat of even the most gifted aspirant.”
—Elizabeth Gould Davis (b. 1910)
“Before the birth of the New Woman the country was not an intellectual desert, as she is apt to suppose. There were teachers of the highest grade, and libraries, and countless circles in our towns and villages of scholarly, leisurely folk, who loved books, and music, and Nature, and lived much apart with them. The mad craze for money, which clutches at our souls to-day as la grippe does at our bodies, was hardly known then.”
—Rebecca Harding Davis (18311910)
“While the light burning within may have been divine, the outer case of the lamp was assuredly cheap enough. Whitman was, from first to last, a boorish, awkward poseur.”
—Rebecca Harding Davis (18311910)
