Under Construction and Proposed
It is noted some of the proposed or under construction buildings in the Brisbane CBD have been scaled back, gone into receivership or cancelled due to the Global Financial Crisis, Brisbane Floods and lack of finance and investment in Brisbane, this was especially highlighted as a giant Pit between Mary and Margaret streets where the failed Vision Tower construction was filled up with stagnant flooded water.

Famous quotes containing the words construction and/or proposed:
“When the leaders choose to make themselves bidders at an auction of popularity, their talents, in the construction of the state, will be of no service. They will become flatterers instead of legislators; the instruments, not the guides, of the people.”
—Edmund Burke (17291797)
“It is not always possible to predict the response of a doting Jewish mother. Witness the occasion on which the late piano virtuoso Oscar Levant telephoned his mother with some important news. He had proposed to his beloved and been accepted. Replied Mother Levant: Good, Oscar, Im happy to hear it. But did you practice today?”
—Liz Smith (20th century)
