List of Sultans of Brunei

The Sultan of Brunei (Malay: Sultan Brunei; سلطان بروني) is the head of state and absolute monarch of Brunei. He is also head of government in his capacity as Prime Minister. Since independence from the British in 1984, only one Sultan has reigned, though the royal institution dates back to the 14th century.

Famous quotes containing the words list of and/or list:

Religious literature has eminent examples, and if we run over our private list of poets, critics, philanthropists and philosophers, we shall find them infected with this dropsy and elephantiasis, which we ought to have tapped.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

I made a list of things I have
    to remember and a list
of things I want to forget,
but I see they are the same list.
    Linda Pastan (b. 1932)
