Pittas
Order: Passeriformes. Family: Pittidae
Pittas are medium-sized by passerine standards, and stocky, with longish strong legs, very short tails and stout bills. Many, but not all, are brightly coloured. There are 32 species worldwide, one in Southern Africa.
