Boobies and Gannets
Order: Pelecaniformes. Family: Sulidae
The sulids comprise the gannets and boobies with only boobies occurring in Southern Africa. Both groups are medium-large coastal seabirds that plunge-dive for fish. There are eight species worldwide and four species in Southern Africa.
